Dog Training & Behaviour Support in Terrington St John
I’m Michelle LeBourn, based in Marshland St James near Wisbech. If you’re in Terrington St John and walks or household routines have become stressful, you don’t need to minimise what you’re experiencing. A difficulty that seems small to someone else can affect your whole day. I offer one-to-one training and behaviour support, beginning with what is happening for you and your dog rather than assumptions about how they should behave.
Looking at the feelings behind a response
Reactivity and anxiety can make ordinary outings complicated. We can talk about when your dog becomes uncomfortable, what happens before a reaction and what you currently do to help. Village lanes may offer less room to pass than your dog needs; busier streets can bring different pressures. Those details matter when considering an appropriate way forward.
One-to-one dog training can also help with lead pulling and recall, whether they are separate goals or part of the wider picture. For puppies, we can work on confidence and early skills without expecting them to manage every new experience at once. My approach is ethical and reward-based, with the individual dog’s comfort in mind.

Home appointments or an agreed setting
Sometimes understanding the home routine is more useful than beginning outdoors. In other cases, we can agree a suitable location for practical training. We’ll discuss which arrangement fits before meeting, and confirm your address, travel details and appointment availability. The initial puppy consultation lasts 90 minutes. One-hour follow-ups are available at home or an agreed location. I won’t assume that the place where a difficulty happens is automatically the best place to begin working on it.
Talk first, with no pressure
My free 20-minute consultation gives you time to describe what has prompted you to ask for help. You can explain your worries in ordinary language, ask about my methods and discuss a possible next step. We can consider whether training, behaviour support or a combination is appropriate. I’ll be straightforward about suitability rather than make promises before I have a clearer understanding of your dog and circumstances.
Online support when it fits
Online sessions are available if you prefer to discuss your situation from home. That can be an option when an in-person arrangement doesn’t suit you, but we’ll still consider the nature of the concern. I’ll talk honestly about what may be useful online and whether another format would be better. Choosing the appointment type is something we can work out together rather than something you must know in advance.
Qualified and recommended support
I hold BCCSDip.ProCanBhvPct. I’m fully insured, canine first aid qualified and recommended by local veterinary practices, the RSPCA West Norfolk and Second Chance Spaniel Rescue. I want our work to feel collaborative, with explanations you can understand and space to say when a suggestion doesn’t fit your routine. Your observations are important to finding practical, reward-based support for your dog.
