Dog Training & Behaviour Support in Upwell & Outwell
I’m Michelle, and I know that the right support starts by hearing what matters to you. For Upwell and Outwell, I offer personalised puppy training and one-to-one behaviour support, with no assumption that every dog or household needs the same plan. Perhaps you’re preparing a puppy for everyday life, or perhaps walks are difficult because of anxiety, reactivity, lead pulling or uncertain recall. We can begin with a conversation about your dog and what you’d like to change.
Puppy guidance built around real life
Early training is not about expecting a puppy to know everything at once. I can help you think through routines, confidence and useful foundations, and answer the questions that come up as your puppy settles into family life. Sessions are individual, so there’s room to focus on your puppy and your priorities.
A first puppy consultation lasts 90 minutes. Follow-ups last one hour. We can meet at your home or somewhere else we agree, if the location is appropriate and an appointment is available.

When walks or behaviour feel complicated
If your dog barks, lunges, freezes, pulls hard or struggles to come back when called, I’ll want to understand the context rather than label the behaviour in isolation. Anxiety and reactivity can be difficult for everyone involved, and I’ll listen without judgement as we consider what may be contributing.
My approach is reward-based and focused on your dog’s wellbeing. We can discuss manageable ways to approach recall, lead walking and challenging situations, without relying on intimidation or expecting your dog to cope before they are ready.
Where support could take place
If riverside paths or village streets form part of your walks, tell me how your dog finds them. A narrow or busy environment can ask quite different things of a dog than home. We’ll consider the setting for practical work carefully, not choose it simply because it is familiar to you.
I’m based in Marshland St James near Wisbech. Please confirm your precise address in Upwell or Outwell so we can discuss appointment availability and travel arrangements before any visit. The two villages share this page, but not every address will necessarily have the same practical options.
Talk it through before booking
The free 20-minute consultation gives us time to discuss what’s happening, what you’re hoping for and which format might work. We can check whether a home or agreed-location appointment is suitable for your address; I’ll be honest if a visit isn’t available. Online sessions are available too, and we can consider whether working remotely would help with the particular questions you want to address.
An individual, qualified approach
I hold BCCSDip.ProCanBhvPct, am fully insured and canine first aid qualified. Local veterinary practices, the RSPCA West Norfolk and Second Chance Spaniel Rescue recommend my work. You know your dog’s daily life best. I’ll bring careful listening and practical guidance, then we can identify steps that fit your circumstances and your dog’s needs.
Sometimes that means starting with small changes at home; sometimes it means thinking differently about walks or training opportunities. My work is ethical and reward-based, with no promise of a fixed timeline or result.
Questions about support in Upwell & Outwell
Do you cover every address in Upwell and Outwell?
I’ll need to check your precise address and appointment availability. Use the free 20-minute consultation to discuss travel and a suitable home or agreed-location arrangement before planning a visit.
Can you help with pulling during riverside walks?
We can discuss lead walking and what your dog encounters. The first practical setting will depend on their needs, rather than automatically be the walk where pulling happens.
Is online behaviour support an option?
Yes, I offer online sessions. We can talk during the free consultation about your dog’s needs and whether online support is an appropriate way to work together.
