Dog Training & Behaviour Support in Friday Bridge
I’m Michelle LeBourn. If you’re in Friday Bridge and something about life with your dog feels difficult, I’m happy to start by listening. Perhaps you’re preparing a puppy for everyday life, or walks have become stressful because of pulling, poor recall, anxiety or reactivity. We’ll look at your particular situation and choose a sensible way to work together, with your dog’s comfort and your practical needs in mind.
Helping a puppy settle into your home
New puppies have a lot to learn, and their people are learning too. I can help you think through settling, toilet training, mouthing, confidence and those first experiences with handling, a lead or a harness. We’ll focus on what is relevant now rather than trying to tackle every possible skill at once.
The initial puppy consultation is 90 minutes, allowing time for questions and discussion as well as practical guidance. Follow-up appointments are one hour. We can meet at home or at another location agreed in advance, depending on what will help your puppy.

Build skills into ordinary routines
Recall and loose lead walking often need more than repeating a cue. I’ll help you notice what your dog finds distracting, how they respond and what might make it easier for them to stay connected with you. We can also work on calmness, focus and other skills that help at home and outside.
Fenland droves and village lanes may be part of your surroundings, but not every route or moment suits every dog. I’ll discuss whether outdoor work is appropriate and what conditions could help your dog feel able to learn.
A careful response to big feelings
A dog who barks, lunges, freezes or tries to get away may be having a hard time. Reactivity and anxiety deserve a thoughtful response, not blame. We can talk about the situations that worry your dog, what you can do to make daily life manageable and how to approach learning without pushing them beyond what they can handle.
Lead pulling may be part of the same picture or a separate training goal. Either way, we’ll look at the whole context and keep the plan individual. I’ll be honest with you if a particular session setting does not seem right.
Face-to-face or online support
I’m based in Marshland St James near Wisbech. Tell me your Friday Bridge address and the support you’re looking for so we can check appointment availability, travel arrangements and a suitable location before confirming a visit.
If an in-person appointment is not suitable, or you would rather talk online, online sessions are available. Your free 20-minute consultation gives us time to discuss which approach makes sense for the question you want to address.
Credentials and how I work
My qualification is BCCSDip.ProCanBhvPct. I’m fully insured and canine first aid qualified, and recommended by local veterinary practices, the RSPCA West Norfolk and Second Chance Spaniel Rescue. I use ethical, reward-based methods and adapt the work to the individual dog, rather than expecting a dog to fit a standard template.
You can contact me even if you’re not sure whether your concern is about training or behaviour. We can use the first conversation to clarify what you’re seeing and what kind of help might be appropriate.
