Dog Training & Behaviour Support in Gorefield
I’m Michelle LeBourn. I know that asking for help can feel like a big step, especially when you’re unsure whether a problem is training-related or a sign your dog is struggling. For Gorefield owners, I offer individual support for puppies and dogs, from settling into a home to recall, lead pulling, anxiety and reactivity. We’ll begin with a conversation, not assumptions about your dog or your handling.
A helpful beginning for puppies
The basics of life with a puppy are not always straightforward. I can help you make a plan for settling, toilet training, mouthing, confidence and gentle introductions to handling and lead equipment. We’ll focus on what your puppy is ready for and what would make home life feel more manageable.
The initial puppy consultation lasts 90 minutes. Follow-up appointments last one hour and can be held at home or an agreed location. I’ll use that first session to learn about your puppy and provide guidance shaped to your questions, rather than rushing through a preset programme.

Clear steps for everyday skills
If you’re working on recall, lead pulling or attention, I’ll help you look at the circumstances around the behaviour. What is your dog noticing? How difficult is it for them to respond? What can you realistically practise between sessions? These questions can help us choose small, reward-based exercises that fit your routine.
Some people spend time around Fenland droves or farmland, while others mainly use village lanes or busier streets. I won’t assume any setting is automatically suitable. We can consider your dog’s comfort and the conditions before deciding where to work.
Making room for anxious dogs
If your dog reacts to other dogs or people, or seems worried by everyday situations, I’ll take that concern seriously. We can talk about triggers, early signs that your dog needs space and practical ways to reduce pressure. Understanding the reason behind a response matters; simply asking a dog to stop reacting may not help them feel safer.
Our approach will be individual and reward-based. I’ll help you consider steps that are manageable and suitable, including when a quieter setting or an online conversation would be the better starting point.
Availability and an initial conversation
My base is Marshland St James, near Wisbech. Share your Gorefield address when you enquire so we can confirm appointment availability and travel arrangements. A home visit or another agreed location needs to fit the session, rather than be assumed from a place name.
Online sessions are available if a visit does not suit your location or circumstances. The free 20-minute consultation gives us a chance to discuss your needs and consider an appropriate format without committing to a particular plan.
Professional support with kindness
I hold BCCSDip.ProCanBhvPct. I’m fully insured and canine first aid qualified, and recommended by local veterinary practices, the RSPCA West Norfolk and Second Chance Spaniel Rescue. My work is ethical, reward-based and centred on the individual dog, with attention to what is practical for the person caring for them too.
I’ll be straightforward about the support I can offer. If your questions are still forming, that is fine: start by telling me what a usual day looks like and where you would most value a little help.
Questions about support in Gorefield
Can you travel to my address in Gorefield?
Please share your exact address so we can confirm appointment and travel arrangements. We’ll consider your home or an agreed location where suitable, not assume every visit is available.
What if my dog becomes anxious around open farmland?
We can discuss what your dog encounters and how they respond. A quieter or more familiar starting point may be appropriate for behaviour support.
Is the first conversation free?
Yes. I offer a free 20-minute consultation to hear about your needs and discuss whether face-to-face or online support may be appropriate.
