Dog Training & Behaviour Support in Leverington

I’m Michelle LeBourn, and I work with dogs as individuals. For people in Leverington, that can mean puppy guidance, help with everyday training or a conversation about behaviour that is worrying you. If recall feels unreliable, your dog pulls on lead, or anxiety and reactivity are affecting your routine, we can take time to understand what is going on before choosing what to try.

Puppy learning begins at home

Puppyhood brings opportunities as well as very ordinary challenges. I can help you with settling, toilet routines, mouthing, confidence, handling and first experiences of lead walking. We’ll consider your puppy’s needs and your household, so the advice is practical for the life you actually lead.

The initial puppy consultation is 90 minutes, with time for a conversation and individual guidance. Follow-ups last one hour. Appointments can take place in your home or another agreed location; we’ll decide what is suitable rather than expecting a young puppy to learn in an unsuitable environment.

Practical work on recall and lead walking

If your dog’s recall disappears around distractions, or walks are uncomfortable because they pull, we can break the problem into parts. I’ll ask about the places and circumstances where it happens and what your dog finds rewarding or difficult. From there, we can work on attention, loose lead walking and recall in ways that are manageable for you to practise.

Farmland and village lanes can bring different sights and sounds. Their usefulness as a training setting depends on the dog and the conditions, so we’ll agree what is appropriate rather than treating every outdoor space as a suitable practice area.

Understand behaviour, not just appearance

Reactivity can look dramatic, while anxiety can be quiet or easy to overlook. I’ll listen to what you’ve observed and help you consider the contexts in which your dog seems comfortable or unsettled. We can discuss management alongside reward-based training, with the aim of supporting both you and your dog through the next steps.

I don’t use force or expect a dog to face a frightening situation for the sake of a session. A calm, careful starting point may be more useful than trying to do too much at once.

Check the right appointment format

I’m based in Marshland St James, near Wisbech. Please share your precise Leverington address so we can discuss face-to-face availability and travel arrangements. We’ll consider whether your home or another agreed location fits the work before confirming an appointment.

Online sessions are also available. During the free 20-minute consultation, we can talk about your dog, your aims and the format that best fits your circumstances, rather than ask you to decide without discussing the options.

Qualified, insured and reward-based

I hold BCCSDip.ProCanBhvPct, am fully insured and canine first aid qualified. I’m recommended by local veterinary practices, the RSPCA West Norfolk and Second Chance Spaniel Rescue. I offer ethical, kind guidance that respects how a dog feels while giving you practical ways to work on everyday challenges.

You don’t have to arrive knowing the exact answer or label for your dog’s behaviour. Tell me what you’ve noticed and what you would like to change, and we can work out an appropriate starting point together.
