Dog Training & Behaviour Support in Long Sutton

I’m Michelle, and my work is about understanding the dog in front of me and the people who care for them. For Long Sutton owners, I offer personalised puppy training and one-to-one support with behaviour concerns. You might be looking for help as a puppy settles in, or trying to manage anxiety, reactivity, lead pulling or unreliable recall. I’ll take your concerns seriously and work with you to consider what support is realistic and kind.

Getting puppy life on a steadier footing

There is a lot to learn when a puppy joins the household, for both puppy and person. Our individual sessions can make space for your questions and focus on foundations that matter in your everyday routine. We can take account of your puppy’s confidence and adjust the discussion to their needs.

The initial puppy consultation is 90 minutes, with follow-ups lasting one hour. Sessions can be at home or at an agreed location, if suitable. We’ll choose the arrangement with your puppy in mind, rather than expect them to manage an unfamiliar setting immediately.

Making sense of challenging behaviour

When a dog pulls, struggles to return when called or reacts to something in the environment, it can be hard to know what to try next. I’ll ask about the pattern and context, including what your dog appears to find difficult. Anxiety and reactivity deserve careful attention, not blame.

I work with reward-based methods and aim to support your dog’s welfare while considering practical strategies. We can discuss what may be helpful without setting unrealistic expectations or promising a particular outcome. Your observations help us understand what matters in the life you share.

A visit needs to be confirmed

If your walks include town streets or quieter routes beside farmland, let me know where the difficult moments occur. Different settings can ask different things of a dog. We’ll consider a suitable location for training instead of assuming that familiar surroundings are always the best place to begin.

I’m based in Marshland St James near Wisbech. Just let me know your address and I’ll confirm travel and the best way to work together, whether that’s at home, somewhere we agree, or online.

Ask questions before making plans

I offer a free 20-minute consultation to hear about your dog and explain how I work. We can review your preferred arrangement, and I’ll be clear about whether a visit is feasible and available. Online sessions are an option if a face-to-face meeting is unsuitable or unavailable. We can discuss what remote guidance may help you address, rather than assume you already know which kind of support to request.

Qualifications and guidance for your dog

I hold BCCSDip.ProCanBhvPct. I’m fully insured and canine first aid qualified, and recommended by local veterinary practices, the RSPCA West Norfolk and Second Chance Spaniel Rescue. Your observations matter: what you’ve tried, what your dog seems comfortable with and what daily life currently asks of them.

From there, we can discuss a suitable starting point and practical ways to support learning and wellbeing. My approach is ethical and reward-based, with honest, considerate help rather than an expectation that one plan will suit every dog or household.
